Microtonal guitar
Since I do a lot of things related to microtonality, and I'm often asked about my guitars, I thought I'd make a little corner for them here.
Microtonality basically means anything that is not in equal temperament (12EDO), and you can find tons of information about it online, for example here.
I have two microtonal classical guitars.
The Guitars
On the left, the guitar with interchangeable fretboards in 1/4 comma meantone tuning. On the right, the guitar with movable frets in 22EDO.
One has movable frets, so in principle you can put it in any tuning, but it takes a while to change into a new system, so it's impractical to play several tunings in one concert.
The other has interchangeable fretboards, which means you have to make the fretboards in advance, but you can then change between them very quickly. That enables you to play in several different tunings/temperaments in one concert.
